Drumbox

Coming to Clayton — not open yet

A private drum practice room in Clayton — premium kit included. Bring sticks only.

Drumbox is a private drum practice room being set up in Clayton for south-east Melbourne drummers — soundproofed, with a premium kit and cymbals included in the room rate. It's not open yet: register your interest and we'll let you know as soon as it is.

About the room

Primarily a private setup — shared to cover its costs

Drumbox is first and foremost a private practice room, built inside a storage unit and shared with a small number of local drummers to help recoup the room's ongoing costs. It is not run commercially — it's a working drummer's space, and Drumbox reserves the right to select which customers use the room. We keep reinvesting in more equipment, building a greater range of cymbals and gear so the room keeps growing for everyone who enjoys drumming.

Soundproofed — play loud, without hesitation.

The room is soundproofed, so you can play at full volume without holding back or worrying about anyone. Just as important: protect your hearing. Bring your sticks and your ear plugs — the room does the rest.

What you get

One room, one drummer at a time — everything set up and waiting

Premium kit included

A Mapex Saturn Evolution Maple/Walnut 5-piece with pro hardware and cymbals is set up in the room rate. Walk in with your sticks and start playing — no kit hire add-ons.

Private — never shared

The room is booked to one drummer at a time and never shared. Every session is yours alone — whether you're practising or teaching.

Daytime blocks for lessons

Planned 2-hour daytime blocks between 10am and 6pm across the south-east — aimed at drum teachers and their students.

Why a real room

Real acoustics build real skill

Practising on an acoustic kit in a properly treated room teaches you what good drum sound actually sounds like — how drums and cymbals respond to your touch, and how the room carries them. It's a completely different experience from an e-drum, and it's how your feel, dynamics and technique develop. That's why I built Drumbox in the first place.

Most local studios hire kits as add-ons (typically $22–$54 per session); at Drumbox the whole setup is included in the room rate.
